HVAC Marketing for Shops That Want Installs, Not Tune‑Ups

Your phone rings for $89 tune-ups while install season slips by. The homeowner you paid Angi for got a call from four other shops too. And when you're on a job after six, calls ring out.

HVAC marketing should fix that. We run your Google Maps listing, your Google Ads, a website that sells installs and an AI receptionist that answers every call, all in your name. The calls are yours alone, and each month you see which ones turned into booked jobs.

Six things HVAC owners tell us on the first call

  • “The phone rings for cheap tune-ups, not installs.”

Every tech tied up on a small call is a tech not quoting a furnace or AC changeout. We split your ads and pages by job type, so install searches get their own budget.

  • “That lead went to four other shops.”

Angi, HomeStars and sites like them sell the same homeowner to everyone who pays. Calls from your own listing, website and ads go to you alone.

  • “Calls ring out when we’re on a job or after six.”

The homeowner with no heat doesn't leave a voicemail. They call the next shop. Our AI receptionist answers, and missed calls get a text back right away.

  • “The slow season is dead.”

March to May and September to October don't have to mean idle trucks. Past customers get tune-up and maintenance-plan offers before the slow weeks hit.

  • “I can’t tell what my marketing does.”

Every ad, listing and page gets its own phone number, so you see which one made the phone ring. Your report counts calls and booked jobs, not clicks.

  • “The PE-backed shop and the $29 tune-up guys outspend me.”

You won't beat them on budget. You beat them on reviews, on showing your licences, and on being the local shop that actually picks up.

Let's talk about which one costs you the most.

Book a call

Why is HVAC marketing so competitive?

When a furnace quits in January, the homeowner doesn't shop around. They look at the map, glance at the reviews and call whoever picks up first. An install is a slower sale: two or three quotes, questions about rebates and financing, and a week or two to decide.

On the same search you're up against:

  • the one-truck operator who quotes low and picks up from the attic
  • the established local shop with hundreds of reviews and decades in town
  • the private-equity-backed company with a big ad budget and commission-paid "comfort advisors"
  • sites that resell homeowner requests, dressed up to look like local companiesIn 2023 the US Federal Trade Commission ordered HomeAdvisor to pay up to $7.2 million over misleading claims about the job requests it sold. Source: FTC
  • the cut-price tune-up outfit, which makes its money on the upsell

You don't win by outspending the biggest shop.

You win by being the best answer in your towns:

  • Close by
  • Well reviewed
  • Properly licensed
  • and quick to pick up.

What an HVAC marketing company should actually do for you

Five jobs, done in order, all in your name.

  1. Be the shop people find when the furnace quits

We rebuild your Google listing so you show up on the map in every town your trucks cover, and build a page for each service in each town: furnace repair, AC installation, heat pumps, maintenance plans. Your Google Ads are split by job type, so installs get their own budget, and searches like "DIY", "parts" and "HVAC jobs" are blocked so you stop paying for them. Where Google's Local Services Ads (the pay-per-call ads at the very top of the page, with the "Google Verified" check mark) pay off in your area, we set those up too.

What's involved: HVAC SEO, HVAC Google Ads, Google Maps and local SEO

ProofAW Mechanical Systems in Brampton, after we rebuilt its Google Ads. See the result below

  2. A website that books installs, not just tune-ups

Separate pages for replacements, heat pumps, repairs and maintenance plans. Honest price ranges and financing on the install pages, and a plain-words page on the heat-pump rebates in your area. A booking form that asks the age of the system, what's wrong and how soon they need you, so whoever calls back knows what's coming. Your licences and certifications on every page.

What's involved: HVAC website design, Website design

ProofLloyd HVAC Services in East York, after we rebuilt its website with a page for each service. See the result below

  3. Answer every call, even at 9 pm in January

Our AI receptionist answers in your company name, day and night, sorts urgent no-heat calls from tune-up requests, and either books the visit or passes it straight to whoever's on call. Missed calls get a text back right away. Quotes that haven't booked within 48 hours get a polite follow-up.

What's involved: AI receptionist, Missed-call text-back, One place for every call, text and form

ProofAW Mechanical Systems, once the AI receptionist took its after-hours and overflow calls. See the result below

  4. More 5-star reviews, and a busy phone in the slow months

A text after every job asking for a Google review, with a one-tap link. Spring AC and fall furnace tune-up offers to past customers before the slow weeks. Maintenance-plan sign-ups and renewals. Every message names your company and has an easy way to opt out.

What's involved: Review requests, Email and text follow-up

ProofA named review result goes here once the client and the numbers are confirmed.

  5. See what you got for your money each month

Every ad, listing and page has its own phone number, so you know which ones bring in work and which ones to cut. Each month you get one plain report: calls, booked calls, installs sold (from what you tell us), what each booked job cost, and what we'll change next month.

What's involved: One place for every call, text and form, a phone number for every ad, a plain monthly report

Proof, from a fence client (same homeowners, same phones)Elie's Fencing Solutions in Ottawa got 477 calls from its Google ads between March and September 2026, up from 203 the year before, while its ad budget went up only 18%. Read the full story

Results depend on your market, your budget and how fast you answer the phone.

Every call answered, 24/7

A homeowner calls at 9:40 on a January night and your crew is asleep.

  1. Your AI receptionist answers in your company name, on the first ring.
  2. It asks what's going on (no heat, a strange noise, a quote for a new system) and takes the address and a callback number.
  3. A no-heat call is flagged as urgent and texted to whoever's on call. A tune-up or quote is booked for the morning.
  4. At 7 am you, or whoever runs your office, see every call, text and form from the night in one place.

How answering every call works

HVAC leads you own, not leads you rent

Angi, HomeStars and sites like them sell the same homeowner's request to several shops at once. You pay, race to call, and often find the homeowner has already heard from three other companies.

The calls we bring in come from your own website, your own Google listing and your own ad account. Nobody else gets them, we never resell them, and if you leave, the listing, the website and the phone numbers stay yours. If you want the full picture, including how the cost compares with buying names, have a look at our page on HVAC leads.

Your year with us: an HVAC marketing calendar

HVAC has two busy seasons and two slow ones. We get you ready before each busy season and fill the slow ones on purpose.

How busy an HVAC shop is through the year: busy with heating in January, February, November and December; busy with cooling from May to August, peaking in July; slow in March and April, and again in September and October.

What we won't do

  • Sell or share your calls. Not with the shop across town, not with anyone.
  • Lock you in.Month to month, always.
  • Keep your stuff in our name.Your website, Google listing, ad account and phone numbers are yours from day one.
  • Mark up your ad spend. It goes straight to Google or Meta from your own account.
  • Send you a report full of clicks. It opens with calls, booked jobs and what each one cost.
  • Advertise prices, response times or rebates you can't stand behind.

Is your HVAC shop a good fit?

We're not the cheapest option, and we're not for every shop.

A good fit if you:

  • are properly licensed and happy to show it
  • pick up the phone, or have someone who does, and call people back the same day
  • want more installs and replacements, not just more service calls
  • will tell us which calls turned into jobs, at least at the start
  • can give it at least three months before you judge it

Probably not a fit if you:

  • can't answer the phone or call back the same day
  • want results without being involved at the start
  • are shopping for the cheapest invoice, or for homeowner names to buy by the dozen
  • can't stay with it long enough to judge it
  • want ads promising prices, response times or rebates your shop can't back up

Not sure which side you're on?

Ask us. We'll tell you straight.

Your first 90 days

  1. Days 1 to 14

    Set-up, in your name.

We fix up your Google listing, open or take over your ad account in your name, give every ad and page its own phone number, and put every call, text and form in one place. The AI receptionist learns your services, towns and hours, and missed-call text-back goes on.

  2. Days 14 to 30

Ads live for the jobs you want.

Install searches run separately from repairs, the first new pages go up, and you can see which ad or search each call came from.

  3. Days 30 to 90

    Cut what doesn't book.

We drop the searches that bring tire-kickers, add pages for more towns and services, ask every finished customer for a review, and set up your next slow-season offer. By day 90 you know what a booked job costs you, and which ads and searches bring them in.

Three rules we don't break

  1. No markup on your ad spend, and every ad gets its own phone number so you see what it brings in.
  2. You own everything, month to month.
  3. Results counted in booked jobs, not clicks.

HVAC marketing questions

Something else on your mind? Call (647) 254-0850 and ask.

A lot of HVAC owners set aside 4 to 8% of revenue for marketing. That's their rule of thumb, not ours. The number we'd watch is what each booked job costs you, and whether it's coming down. With us you pay one of three monthly plans plus your ad spend, and the monthly report shows what each booked job cost, so you can judge it for yourself.

Get your Google listing right in every town you cover, with real photos and steady reviews. Build a page for each service. Run Google Ads split by job type, so installs don't share a budget with small tune-up calls. Answer every call, day and night. Ask every customer for a review, and bring past customers back before the slow seasons. And give every ad its own phone number, so you know which of these is actually bringing in work.

It is if the agency counts what you count: booked calls and installs. It isn't if you get a report full of clicks, a 12-month contract and a website you don't own. Ask any HVAC marketing agency, us included, who owns the accounts, how you'll know which calls came from their work, and what happens if you leave.

Never. They come from your own website, your own Google listing and your own ad account, and we don't sell them to anyone.

No long contract. We work month to month. Your website, Google listing, ad account, phone numbers and customer list are in your name from day one, and if you leave, they go with you.

Ads can start bringing calls within the first month. Google Maps and search take longer, think months rather than weeks, but they keep paying off the longer they run. You can see how that played out for Lloyd HVAC Services in their result above. How fast it goes for you depends on your market, your budget and how quickly you pick up the phone.
